Community Groups are a key aspect of our church identity. Every 2nd Sunday in our monthly rhythm, Community Groups provide the opportunity to participate in concentrated pockets of belonging and to share in informal conversation, laughter, and support for one another. Each group as the agency to decide what form their gathering will take. Thus, each group provides a unique structure and format in which they live into and live out community.
Currently, all groups are meeting via Zoom. However, with COVID causing many spaces to be in limbo, Community Groups have the autonomy to decide the best way to gather while still abiding by COVID guidelines and keeping folks safe. Therefore, as we look to a new season, groups may continue to meet over Zoom, move to in-person gatherings, or fluctuate between the two.
Groups are typically capped at 12 people. At this time, groups are open for enrollment with a request to join. This gives room for flexibility as folks join a group for the first time or try a new group while still giving Community Group leaders the final say in what number of members is right for their group's context.
If you have any trouble joining a group or knowing which group may be a good fit for you, reach out to Vanessa Perkinson (fumcbellevue.org) and she will help you navigate that decision.
